IsraelCharts is a free, searchable archive of the Israeli official foreign-music chart (המצעד הלועזי), published weekly from 1961 to 1997. It holds 7,639 chart entries by 2,844 artists across 1,551 weekly charts, together with the year-end charts and their Singer, Female Singer and Band of the Year awards.
It is made for everyone who grew up listening to the radio, waiting for the weekly chart show, and remembering where they were when a favourite song reached #1. It is built and maintained by Shay Dotan and dedicated to the Hit Box & Official Music Chart community.
Every position, entry date and week on chart comes from the official weekly chart records. Nothing is estimated or interpolated: if a song charted, it is in the archive; if it did not, it is not. Artist names and song titles are written in English; Hebrew songs that charted are transliterated.
No weekly chart was published during 1966–1968, so those years only have year-end charts. Year-end entries from that period therefore do not link to a weekly run.
Each week up to 40 songs were ranked. A song earns 41 minus its position points for every week it charts (#1 = 40 points, #10 = 31, #40 = 1). A song's total score is the sum of its weekly points, so both height and longevity count. A song that spent three weeks at #1, #3 and #7 would score 40 + 38 + 34 = 112 points. A song that briefly drops out of the chart and returns within a couple of weeks is treated as a single run.
An archive this size will contain mistakes — misspelled artist names, wrong credits, missing entries. If you spot one, please tell us through the contact page; corrections are reviewed and published regularly. You can also follow the project on Instagram at @israelmusiccharts, where an "On this day in Israeli chart history" post is published daily.
